CTG TORQline™ Carbon Prop-shafts

TORQline™ carbon composite prop-shafts present significant performance improvements and weight savings, typically 40 - 50%, over many standard road going shafts. Developed on the race tracks of Japan, Europe and USA, these products are now available to be used on the road and the track. Applications are fast road, drifting, track day, drag racing, circuit racing, and tarmac rally. The automotive community is becoming increasingly aware of the advantages of CTG TORQline™ products.

1. Extreme strength and performance:

CFRP shaft with race inspired billet end fittings for applications up to 1000bhp.

2. Reduced rotational inertia:

Driveline system response improved leading to improvements in acceleration, braking and gear-shift.

3. Improved torque transfer:

The inherent damping properties of composite materials provides smoother transition of power during high load scenarios such as take off. This reduces the wear in the transmission components and minimises the shock loadings into the gearbox/diff.

4. Reduction in driveline parts count:

2 piece standard prop-shaft can be replaced with a single piece composite system thus eliminating the need for centre bearings and joints, minimising frictional losses.

5. Corrosion resistance:

Carbon fibre is not susceptible to the same corrosion that would affect a steel shaft. Metallic parts are limited to joints at either end.

6. Crash Safety:

Carbon composite prop-shafts have been demonstrated to behave in a more favourable way than steel shafts in the event of an accident.
